Ballasts are electrical devices which are used regulate the
flow of current in any given circuit. The most common examples of this device
are those which are used in fluorescent lamps. They utilize electrical charge

quite affordable and fall between the category of magnetic and electronic ones.
Electronic ballasts are the outcome of the advancement in
solid state physics. They have completely replaced the conventional mechanical
and hybrid ballasts. They are twice as efficient as magnetic ballasts and also
have an increased efficiency rate in terms of illumination. They are long
lasting and very light in weight as compared to heavy transformer based ballasts.
Although they initially come with a hefty price they will surely prove to be
more cost effective because of their long life and reliability. With these
ballast the tediousness of light flickering is completely eliminated. They are
much quieter and also do not get heated like other types of ballasts.
